Working with Content Areas

Content Areas

Content areas are defined in the Web > Page view by dashed lines and are marked by their title in their top left corner. The example above shows an area called 'Page Content' and one called 'Page Teasers'.

Adding Content

To add content to a content area just click the appropriate 'Create new element' icon. You will be taken to a page listing the available content element types, click on a type and you will be taken to the editing page. Fill in the appropriate fields, save and close.

Click on the 'Save document and preview page' to quickly see what you have done, or 'Save document and close' to quickly move on.

Always remember to save the document!

Moving Content

  1. Click the 'Cut element' icon
  2. 'Paste element' icons will appear in all content areas above and below all content elements.
  3. Click the appropriate icon.
  4. The element will move to the specified position

This technique also works for moving content to a different page. In this case the procedure would be:

  1. Click the 'Cut element' icon
  2. Open the target page by clicking its title in the page tree
  3. Click the appropriate 'Paste element' icon in the desired content area.

Hiding Content

  1. Click the content element icon on the top left of the element (see above)
  2. Click 'Hide'

Selecting Content From Other Pages

  1. Click 'Edit Page Properties'
  2. Under 'Content' you can find a list of content elements in the content areas for the page. Click on the 'Browse for records' icon (see above)
  3. Select the page from which to reference content under the 'Page tree' column of the pop-up window
  4. Select the desired content element from the 'Pagecontent' table under the 'Select records' column
