Users and Workspaces

Users

Backend users belong to backend usergroups. TWK will generally set up a an Editor user who has access to all parts of the sites, other users may be setup with the same privaleges (i.e. belong to the same usergroup as Editor) or belong to a group which has access to a specific part of the site or which has only limited publishing rights.

Workspaces

Typo3 has a Live and a Draft workspace. Some users have access to both workspaces whilst some will have access to just live or just draft. Live Workspace enables changes to be made instantly, whilst the Draft Workspace acts as an offline editing mode.
